ICS 300 - Intermediate ICS
This course provides training on and resources for personnel who require advanced application of the Incident Command System (ICS). The course expands upon information covered in the ICS -100 and ICS -200 courses. Topics covered include: How NIMS Command and Management component supports the management of expanding incidents, Incident/event management process for supervisor and expanding incidents as prescribed by the ICS, Implementing the incident management process on a simulated Type 3 incident, and developing an Incident Action Plan for a simulated incident.
This course also provides a detailed introduction for emergency response supervisors and mid– to upper-level managers to the Incident Command System (ICS) forms used in the development of an Incident Action Plan (IAP). Participants will examine the primary forms used in an IAP, as well as supporting and other utility forms. In addition, participants will review the planning process and where, within that process, the forms are filled out and by whom. The course includes a practical application designed to instruct participants in the development of Specific, Measurable, Action-oriented, Realistic, and Time-based (SMART) control and management objectives.
Prerequisites: IS 100 Introduction to the Incident Command System
IS 200 Basic Incident Command System
IS 700 An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
IS 800 An Introduction to the National Response Plan
** All IS course certificate must be within ten (10) years of completion.We will not accept course completion certificates older than ten (10) years. However, we will tentatively reserve your seat in the course if you are just in need of completing the updated course or courses.
